The Bat and Ball Specifications

The Ball: Must weigh between 155.9g to 163g. In Test matches, a red ball is used; in limited overs, a white ball.

The Bat: The width of the bat cannot exceed 4.25 inches, and the total length cannot be more than 38 inches.

Intervals and Game Timing

Rare Dismissals (Special Ways of Getting Out)

Obstructing the Field: If a batsman deliberately distracts or prevents a fielder from catching the ball or throwing it at the stumps.

Retired Out: If a batsman leaves the field without the Umpire's permission and doesn't return, they are considered "Retired Out."

Hit the Ball Twice: A batsman cannot hit the ball twice with their bat unless they are defending their stumps. They cannot score runs from the second hit.

Dead Ball Rules

A ball becomes "Dead" (no runs or wickets can happen) when:

Penalty Runs for Fair/Unfair Play

Fake Fielding: If a fielder pretends to throw or field the ball to deceive the batsmen, the umpire can award 5 penalty runs to the batting team.

Ball Hitting Helmet: If the ball hits a fielder's helmet placed on the ground behind the keeper, 5 penalty runs are awarded to the batting team.

Damaging the Pitch: If batsmen run on the protected area (center) of the pitch after warnings, the bowling team gets 5 penalty runs.
